A tomb panel (door), Toradja people, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. This door of jackfruit wood, with ancestor figure, closed the entrance to a tomb located high in a cliff. White clay is applied as a ‘charge’ for protection. This work has clearly a prehistoric cave-art quality Late 19th century. (59/51cm.) Ex. collection Frank Wiggers, Portugal. Please ask for price.
