Ritual mask from Nepal. (with ceremonial pigment)
This important mask is made from extremely heavy red wood, locally known as bloodwood. (raktachandan)
collected by a French ethnologist in the 1980’s. It has a strong glossy patine on the inside from long use.
The mask has been professionally restored on the upper rim. 19th century.
