The skull mask of Citipati is a reminder of the impermanence of life and the eternal cycle of life and death.
Citipati is a protector of Tibetan Buddhism and his mask is used in traditional Cham Dance Rituals.
This particular pair is collected in 1998 in the monastery of Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, India.
