A hardwood animistic shrine-mask from Rai people of Eastern Nepal. Rai still believes and practice Animism although they are influenced by Hinduism and Buddhism. This mask was hanging in a local shrine. 19th / 20th century. Collected in Kathmandu. (H. 26cm)
