2528A Dogon

Wooden fragment from a granary door or lock. Dogon, Mali. Found in one of the caves of the ‘Falaise de Bandagara’. 30cm. 18th century or older. Collected by Justin Barthels in the nineties. He lived for a few years with the Dogon and was one of the only foreigners who could communicate with the ‘Hogon’ / blacksmith. Ex. Private collection. Price on request.
